The regular monthly meeting was called to order on Monday evening, May 8, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Larry Dodds.
Trustees present were:

Also present were Superintendent of Maintenance Josh Hereford, Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance Nick Sandage and Village Treasurer Connie Gossmeyer. Police Chief Ritchie Cooper was absent.
Mayor Larry Dodds announced the results of the most recent election. David Rathke, Janice Edwards and Vincent Beck were re-elected for a full four-year term. Rick Norton and Carol Stephenson were re-elected for a two-year term.
Mayor Larry Dodds announced he would like to appoint Charles Morefield to the Village of Colfax Board of Trustees for a two-year term.
Trustee Rick Norton made the motion to appoint Charles Morefield to the Village of Colfax Board of Trustees for a two-year term. Trustee Vincent Beck seconded the motion. Vote: Rick Norton-Aye, David Rathke-Aye, Janice Edwards-Aye, Carol Stephenson-Aye, Vincent Beck-Aye. Motion carried.
The Oath of Office was read by all six Trustees for the Village of Colfax Board of Trustees.
Trustee Vincent Beck made a motion to approve the closure of Fiscal Year 2022-2023. Trustee Carol Stephenson seconded the motion. Vote: Rick Norton-Aye, David Rathke-Aye, Janice Edwards-Aye, Carol Stephenson-Aye, Charles Morefield-Aye, Vincent Beck-Aye. Motion carried.

Village Treasurer Connie Gossmeyer gave the Treasurerโs Report for the month of April 2023.

Police Chief Ritchie Cooper was absent. Mayor Dodds reported that the March and April 2023 Police Reports are in your folders for review.
Superintendent Joshua Hereford gave the first special report. Josh reports that Nick and himself attended the required spraying training and took the test. Both Josh and Nick passed their tests and are now licensed to spray for mosquitos for the next three years.

Final special report was given by Mayor Larry Dodds. Included in the written report was a list of the monthly revenue. Mayor Dodds reports that the Good Ole Days will be returning to Colfax this summer on August 4-5, 2023. Mayor Dodds reports the purchaser of the six acres just south of the village limits has reached out to him regarding annexation into the Village of Colfax. More to come at a later date when the purchase is complete.

Streets and Lights Committee Chairman, Rick Norton, reports a committee meeting was held prior to tonightโs Board of Trustee Meeting to review the Summer of 2023 Street and Alley Projects.
Maintenance Equipment and Vehicle Committee Chairman, Vincent Beck, has nothing to report at this time.
The only item of Old Business was the approval of the street patching, alley preparation and resurfacing projects for the Summer of 2023.

Mayor Dodds asked the Board to review the changes to the ordinance as this item will be on next months agenda for approval.
Next item on the agenda was the approval of the sponsorship of the โZoo Ladyโ at the Colfax Good Ole Days by the Village of Colfax.
