AUGUST 16, 2010 - SPECIAL MEETING | Thursday, September 9, 2010
���� The special meeting of the Village Board of Colfax was called to order on Monday evening, August 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Ricardo Onken.
��� Trustees present were:
������������������ David Rathke�-� Aye�;� Carol Stephenson - Aye; Lonnie Meiner - Aye; Rick Wagoner - Aye;
Donna Poppe and Bruce Green were absent.� Also present was Superintendent of Public Works Damon Getty.
���� The first item on the agenda was the Resolution for the new wind farm
���� Trustee David Rathke asked how close to town these wind turbines were going to be.� Mayor Ric Onken stated about one-half (1/2) mile.
���� Trustee Rick Wagoner stated the Village has no control over that anyway.� The one south of town the Village would have more control over because of the waterway.� Trustee Lonnie Meiner asked if this has been published.� Village Clerk Nancy Kiper stated that it has been posted for four (4) or five (5) days.� Ric stated that the placements have already been agreed to with the farmers.�
���� There was more discussion regarding this.
���� Trustee Lonnie Meiner made a motion to pass Resolution #2010-02 as drafted.� Trustee Rick Wagoner seconded the motion.� Vote:� Donna Poppe - Absent; David Rathke - Aye; Bruce Green - Absent; Carol Stephenson - Aye; Lonnie Meiner - Aye; Rick Wagoner - Aye; Motion carried.
���� The second item on the agenda was for part-time help for the public works department.� Trustee Rick Wagoner asked Superintendent Damon Getty how long and how much.� Damon stated he needs a laborer for a couple months.� Damon asked what rate is for laborer.� Village Clerk Nancy Kiper stated we pay $10.00 per hour.
���� Mayor Ric Onken asked if Damon has a schedule of what he is going to use them for.� Trustee Rick Wagoner asked if they need someone five (5) days a week.� Damon stated if weather permits.� Damon stated we are using Brent as much as we can but he's back to work so he can't work everyday.� Damon explained that the first day, him and Dave put in seventy (70) feet of tile and the second day with Brent helping we put in 400 feet.�
���� Trustee Lonnie Meiner asked if we can re-evaluate� after four (4) weeks.� Ric stated will re-evaluate at the next board meeting.� Rick Wagoner stated at the next board meeting Damon will know who and how much he will need the help.� Put on next month's agenda.
���� Trustee Rick Wagoner made a motion to approve the employment of a part-time laborer for the public works department to be re-evaluated September 7, 2010.� Trustee Carol Stephenson seconded the motion.� Vote:� Donna Poppe - Absent; David Rathke - Aye; Bruce Green - Absent; Carol Stephenson - Aye; Lonnie Meiner - Aye; Rick Wagoner - Aye; Motion carried.
