��������� The regular monthly meeting of the Village Board of Colfax was called to order by Mayor Ricardo Onken on Monday evening, January 5, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

��������� Also present were Village Treasurer Linda Hanson; Police Chief Mike Scott; Superintendent of Public Works Damon Getty; Village Attorney Tom Shields.

��������� Trustee Donna Poppe made a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes for the regular monthly meeting and the two special meetings and approve as presented.� Trustee Lonnie Meiner seconded the motion.� Vote:� Donna Poppe - Aye; Dennis Farney - Aye; Bruce Green - Aye; Carol Stephenson - Absent; Lonnie Meiner - Aye; Rick Wagoner - Aye; Motion carried.

��������� Village Treasurer Linda Hanson gave the Treasurer's Report for December, 2008.

��������� Trustee Dennis Farney made a motion to pay the bills as presented.� Trustee Bruce Green seconded the motion.� Vote:� Donna Poppe - Aye; Dennis Farney - Aye; Bruce Green - Aye; Carol Stephenson - Absent; Lonnie Meiner - Aye; Rick Wagoner - Aye; Motion carried.

��������� Trustee Lonnie Meiner, Chairman of the Finance and Audit committed reported that the state is still behind approximately two months in their financial obligations.� The Village is able to meet all of their obligations.
�
��������� Chairman of the Police and Liquor Committee Carol Stephenson was absent.� Police Chief Mike Scott gave the activity report for the Police Department for December, 2008.�
�
��������� Chairman of the Water and Sewer Committee, Trustee Rick Wagoner reported everything is on hold for right now.
�
��������� Trustee Dennis Farney, Chairman of the Streets and Lights Committee, reported that Damon and Dave have been cleaning up a lot of limbs.� Dennis reported that everyone appreciates the good job they have done.
�
��������� Ric Onken reported that the school drew up some ideas for the banner.� Ric doesn't see anything that we can use at this point but Pam Rathke would like some more ideas.
�
��������� Ric asked if everyone had a chance to take a look at the Welcome Package.� Rick Wagoner asked if we publicize the website & e-mail address.� Rick is wondering whether we need to put it in the paper.� Rick would like to add the meeting night dates to the Package.

��������� There was no New Business for tonight.

��������� Resident Maurine Cox asked about the street light on North Street by the Catholic Church.� It was called in but Damon stated they fixed the wrong one.

��������� Ric Onken reported on the power outage.� AmerenIP contacted Ric and stated there were some poles down.� Ric asked the person which poles but they didn't know.� Ameren was to call him back but they haven't yet.

��������� Resident Helen Williams asked how people who don't have a computer how are they to know what's going on.� Nancy has been putting it on the website.� Nancy reported that most of the time they got thrown away at the stores because no one picked them up.� Nancy reported she was mailing some but there were very few calls wanting it mailed to them.�
